What's New

We are always looking at ways that we can further improve the fantastic property and facilities at Forest Lodge Farm.  I will endevour to list here all the small and large improvements we have made or are planning to make in the near future.

Completed and On-going Improvements

February 2009

Painting - We had some unexpected time off with the recent bush fires.  Although they were of no direct threat to the camp, we did have a few of our camps re-schedule.  So to make good use of the time we gave our dining and lounge room a fresh coat of paint, what a big job, but what a difference it has made!!  Cream on the walls and a lime green feature wall on both fireplaces.  Looks great, if I don't say so myself.......well done Mel and Michelle!

January 2009

Another big job we have been wanting to get started for a long time is finally happening.  The Ropes Course is getting a facelift.  A new log boundary around the area is currently being built, once this is done new fresh tanbark will be laid.  We think this will be a huge improvement for this area not only for improved safety but will look excellent.  We have also had a new rope ladder and balance pole installed and are currently replacing the tyres on the tyre swing.

December 2008

With the help of family we have cleared out one half of the huge shed for Archery.  This was a BIG job as there were years of storage in here.  A new wall has been built to seperate the archery area from the workshop area and it has turned out great!

Jan 2008 and ongoing

We are currently having mattress covers made for all of our mattresses.  So far we have 50 of our 100 mattresses covered.  This means we are able to remove the covers on a regular basis and wash them to provide a more hygenic and fresh experience at Forest Lodge.  Keep up the good work mum............only 50 to go!!!

Jan 2008

The recreation room has always been a fantastic facility, however now that we have cleared out all the un-needed furniture it is more user friendly for groups to utilise the stage and space for concerts, parties, red faces shows, indoor meetings or music & dance practice etc.  This huge room with its high ceilings is now perfect for indoor ball games such as cricket and soccer.  We are also thinking of installing a basketball ring so that groups can play basketball in wet weather.

June 2008

We have updated our toilet/shower block.  Both the boys and girls toilets have been newly plastered and painted, we have had new lights, vanity cupboards sinks & tapware installed. We have also given the showers a facelift with new tiling on the floor and lamipanel walls.

May 2008

New animal pens have been built and they look great!  We now have a new baby pig, 2 new alpacas and also we have taken in a lovely old horse for her retirement.

April 2008

We have just brought home our new little spoodle puppy called Daisy, she is just beautiful.  She has a great nature and loves a pat, already lots of campers have told us they are going to steal her and take her home!!!

April 2008

We have re-done the old "clue trail" activity.  New maps, new clues.  The GREAT Forest Lodge Clue trail is now ready for your school or group to slot into their program.  Students are put into teams, each team is given a map of the property and a sheet with 30 questions.  Each question corresponds to a marked area on the map.  Teams must go to that spot to find the answer to the clue.  This activity is great fun and suits all ages.

April 2008

The second stage of our lodge kitchen refurb was completed.  New laminate splashbacks have replaced all the old and tired tiles that were there.  As well as being far easier to clean it improves the look of the kitchen so much.

March 2008

A State of the art disco laser light system was installed in the lounge.  This works well with our stereo and CD surround sound system.  The laser light show responds to the beat of the music.  It is a fantastic addition for schools and groups to use during their next disco or party.

2007

We have removed all of the old steel bunks from the lodge. We appreciate everyone needs a good night sleep on a comfy bed so we have had new wooden bunks custom built.  They have been very well built are sturdy and safe and the feedback on them has been very positive.

We had stage one of our lodge kitchen re-furb completed.  New laminate was installed on all the benchtops.  It is a fantastic improvement on the old tiles that I am sure had been there for 20 years.  This laminate is so much easier to clean and makes it so much more hygenic as well as looking 100% better.
.
We converted our volley ball court into a full size "beach" volleyball court.  We found that the volleyball court as it was always ending up muddy and unuseable in wet weather.  Now we have enclosed the base and filled it with real beach sand.  It is proving VERY popular and looks great.

2006

We installed a state of the art, surround sound, projector screen and dvd/vcr/cd system.  This has proven to be very popular for both our school and social/family groups.  Great for a DVD on the big screen if the weather is bad or as a night time activity after a big day of activities.  The system is easily connected to your laptop if you would like to organise a slide show of your photos or for corporate groups to use for training sessions or a trivia night etc.  The 6 cd stacker is perfect for your schools disco or party.

2005 and ongoing

FARM ANIMALS When we took over Forest Lodge Farm in 2005 it was a great business, however although it was called a farm there wasn't a whole lot of animals here.  We have made it our goal to turn Forest Lodge Farm into an even greater country experience by introducing many farm animals. We raise many of the animals from babies and if the groups that visit like they can help us when needed for bottle feeding the baby lambs and goats.  They can also help feed our lovely pig any scraps left over from meals.  Our chickens run freely around the property and the geese have a lovely home in our dam overlooking the beautiful Stresleki ranges........what a life!

Impovements in the Pipeline

...........stay tuned
  • Extension to our lodge, this will include a large indoor toilet/shower block, new bunkrooms, some with en-suites and a new indoor games room that will include pool & table tennis tables.
  • New tiling and Solar heating on our swimming pool
  • Sports arena - we are thinking about converting our horse stable area into "The Forest Lodge games arena"  We believe this area would be fantastic for groups to use to play many team building and challenging games.  We are brainstorming ideas at the moment on the best way to utilise this space. For those who have been here before we would love to hear your thoughts and ideas on this
  • We are always on the look out for any new activities we can provide our groups with and are open to ideas and suggestions from YOU.
